Each day, I look into the readings that will be read at Mass in the Roman Catholic Church and offer a brief reflection on the gospel for that day. I often take an anachronistic approach allowing the words of Jesus to speak to me today.

A brief reflection on Mt 5:13-19
We as disciples of Christ are salt for the earth and the light of the world. That distinction comes with the responsibility to live out the law and bear witness to Jesus.
In short, the world must become a better, more Godly, place for our having been here.
Our job, it would appear, is to reflect the tremendous self-giving love of our Lord. Let us begin today.
